By applying some psychological theories a group of experts have tailored a behavioral intervention program aiming at promoting recycling behavior at the Pstereo Festival, a rock festival held in annually near the city center of Trondheim, Norway. The program highlights placement and decoration of recycling stations, lighting (to guide the festival goers to the recycling stations in the dark), specific tailored messages, and information to volunteers picking up waste on the ground, as key elements to succeed with the intervention program. The theoretical basis of the program is solid. However, it meets some limitations regarding pretesting and measurements.
The purpose of this work was to investigate how different is a users and a service provider's point of view about understandability, technicality, importance and awareness of privacy policy. The emerging ambiguity in information security has raised many privacy and trust issues that are context dependent. Therefore there are several uncertainties and risks seen today concerning the privacy policy & subscriber trust. It is a responsibility of services providers before amending their policy to notify their subscribers. Because if they do not take this initiative then it creates trust deficit for their subscribers and this affects their business and goodwill. In this work we have adopted the online survey questionnaire technique to perform a research based on the user's ideas and thoughts about the privacy policy and security issues. We have used the same technique with different questions based on the organization's own perspectives on privacy policy. This would highlight to what extent an organization thinks the policy fulfills the user's confidence.
In this book, the research is concerned with the identification of people (mainly speaker verification) based on a connectionist approach. In particular, the book focuses on the improvement of system performance obtained by certain developments of preprocessed speech signal inputs. Various performance measures are used to evaluate the automatic speaker verification (SV) system for different aspects of performance. The book provides an introduction to the field of automatic speaker recognition. The basic structures as well as classification of the speaker recognition systems are described. The task descriptions for SV such as fixed text, text independent and text prompted are described. This book is also concerned with the application of neural network (NN) models to SV. A hybrid neural network is proposed for speaker verification (SV). The basic idea in this system is the usage of vector quantization preprocessing as the feature extractor. The preprocessing stage measures local spectral similarities and uses this information to train the multi layer perceptrons (MLP). The benefit of this SV systems are its speed and simplicity.
